At the end of June, I had the pleasure of joining a legal panel at the 8th Annual VidCon in Anaheim, CA. Never heard of VidCon? You’re missing out! Explaining VidCon is simple: it’s an annual convention for online video. However, truly understanding VidCon requires an immersion in all things online video and the online influencers culture. Can you name 10 of the top 100 YouTube channels (excluding Vevo artist channels, of course!)? Have you ever watched a story on SnapChat? Do you know about the Musical.ly app?

If you follow my blog, you may know that I recently wrote an article published in ABA Landslide® magazine on YouTubers and the laws impacting their business. This article happened to land on the desk of Copyright Alliance CEO Keith Kupferschmid. Keith reached out to me about joining a VidCon panel he coordinated called “What Every Successful Creator Needs to Know About Copyright.” The panel / workshop was broadcast live on Facebook and I’ve compiled a version of the panel on YouTube that you can watch below. Enjoy!
